Understanding CBD and Wellness

CBD is one of a group of chemical compounds, called cannabinoids, which come from the cannabis plant. Besides CBD (cannabidiol), there are over a hundred other cannabinoid compounds found in cannabis, including CBN (cannabinol), CBC (cannabichromene), CBG (cannabigerol), and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

Did you know your body produces its own cannabinoids, which are called endocannabinoids? These are part of the endocannabinoid system, a cell-signaling system that interacts with multiple organs and systems throughout the body, helping them to maintain homeostasis, or balance. This process, then, helps the body’s ability to regulate a number of important functions, including mood, sleep, memory, and more.

CBD & the Endocannabinoid System

When CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, it somewhat mimics the body’s own endocannabinoids. CBD, CBG, and other cannabinoids signal to receptors in various systems and organs of the body, helping them to maintain homeostasis.** The result of this interaction is a number of wellness benefits, which is the primary reason CBD has become such a popular health product in the US and beyond.**

Types of CBD Products

There are many different types of CBDfx CBD products to choose from, each appealing to consumers’ different needs.

The quickest-hitting CBD effects come from CBD vape products. With CBD vape products, the cannabinoids are absorbed through the lining of the lungs, which can happen in minutes or even seconds. Disposable CBDfx CBD Vape Pens are popular with US customers, because they’re ready to use out of the box and are also rechargeable.

CBD edibles, including our massive selection of CBD gummies and CBD capsules, take the longest period of time for you to feel the effects (ranging from 30 minutes to two hours). This longer absorption period occurs because the CBD has to pass through the digestive system first, before being absorbed into the bloodstream. CBD edibles do, however, have the longest-lasting effects of any category of CBD products.** These effects can last six to eight hours, depending on bioavailability factors such as height, weight, metabolism, and other factors.

Sublingual CBD oil drops provide a nice middle ground. CBD tinctures produce quicker-hitting effects than CBD edibles (usually 15–30 minutes) and longer-lasting effects than CBD vape pens (usually four to six hours).

Lastly, CBD topicals, such as CBD balms, CBD face masks, CBD bath bombs, and CBD creams, allow the CBD to absorb through the layers of skin and proceed directly to the affected area of the body.

CBD for Wellness

Whatever CBD product you choose—be it edible, tincture, vape oil, or topical—make sure to avoid cheaper manufacturers, whose products can potentially contain contaminants, such as pesticides, heavy metals, and GMOs.

Always purchase CBD from a reputable brand. At CBDfx, we only use organic CBD oil culled from the hemp plant by means of clean CO2. All of our products come with a Certificate of Analysis to verify both its purity and potency.
